Oil change and some "Grip Puppies" to slide over the OEM grips.
I've got large hands so I always add these to my bikes. They lessen vibrations as well. The heated grips still work fine. The heat just takes a bit longer to reach your hands obviously....

I usually run high-octane in my GS just to keep it running at its best, especially on long trips. But yeah, I’ve used lower octane when 100% gas wasn’t available — no issues so far. Just try to avoid ethanol-heavy blends if you can.
